Hilltribe Photography Motorcycle Tour
The Mae Hong Son Loop is famous for it's incredible amount of twists and bends a dream for any motorcycle rider. We've taken the traditional route one step further by exploring some of the less visited regions off the main loop on fantastic ex logging trails.
- Rural Locations!
- Fantastic Road!
- Stunning Scenery!
- Visit The Burma Border Regions
We use adventure motorcycles perfectly suited to this route, ride back roads to a remote hill tribe lodge surrounded by forests with wild Gibbon 1800 meters above sea level for a relaxed evening with the Karen hill tribe. Ride the Burma border trails including Thailand's 'Road To Mandalay' and stay in 'Little Yunnan' a chinese tea village populated Kuo Min Tan fighters from Yunnan Province China, after the Communist take over.
A cracking motorcycle tour taking you to the more remote areas in the Mae Hong Son province. The roads are nothing short of spectacular you ride this tour once you'll want to ride it again it's that good. As always with us we visit some of the natural sights and 'must see' places instead of the manufactured tourist traps.
With groups of 4 riders or more we include a local Thai photographer fluent in English who can help set up shoot scenes and offer photography tips and techniques.
Available Tour Options
Karen Hill Tribe Lodge
The lodge and the people are one the highlights of this tour, tucked away in a lush forest opening with a chance to see or hear the call of the wild Gibbon. The lodge is wooden purpose built building built for the more adventurous travellers due to it's remote location miles from mainstream tourism.
During the months of November to January due to it's elevation temperatures can plummet to single digits at night demanding the evening drinks to be spent by a roaring wood fire.
One of the most photogenic places in Northern Thailand especially for portrait photography.
Ban Rak Thai
Ban Rak Thai village is day 2 of the riding days a fantastic ride from Karen Hill Tribe Lodge directly to the Border of Burma.
We'll stay on the border lakeside in this unique Yunannese culture village a chinese tea village populated Kuo Min Tan fighters from Yunnan Province China, after the Communist take over.
Fine Yunnanese food on offer tonight including tea leaf salad a few beers and maybe some locally produced fruit wine.
