We have prepared this tour as 'luxury' however when riding an adventure motorcycle tour such as this in 3rd world Laos and in very remote regions accommodation can limited and basic at times, that's the nature of this type of trip but spread through the tour we have also included incredible 4 & 5 Star accommodation where we can.

Starting from Chiang Mai, Thailands motorcycle capital we head North towards the Laos border keeping off the main highways taking the better motorcycle roads through lush national park forests and quintessential Thai villages.

Crossing the border to Laos we ride to the very unique (some say "strange") town of Boten taken over by the chinese government as a so called " Economic zone".  This town was well known in recent years as the China border "Ghost Town" but today a thriving Chinese community with and a spectacular hotel we will need Chinese money here.

Again, we could take the faster routes through Laos but this country is one of the most photogenic countries in SE Asia so we're taking the back roads passing stunning lime stone outcrops, crossing the mighty Mekong river,  the edge of Laos highest peak and riding through one of the most successful national parks in Laos with a thriving population of wild Tiger close the the Vietnam border also crossing Laos largest Lake on scorpian tail boats.  

Other highlights include a day off in Laos 'must see'  Luang Prabang, a night of oppulence directly on the Mekong river and a chance to party and let our hair down in Vientian, Laos capital.
